Ariel Luckey is the Development Director at the Sogorea Te' Land Trust, an Oakland-based Indigenous women-led land trust located in Lisjan Ohlone territory. Ariel was part of the team that created the Shuumi Land Tax, an innovative grassroots funding strategy for Rematriation and LandBack initiatives. Born and raised in Oakland, California, Ariel works at the intersection of community advocacy, culture change and resource redistribution. He is a co-founder of Jews On Ohlone Land, a multigenerational Jewish collective that is learning together how to be good guests on Lisjan land.
